Hi! I’m Micah. Let me just say what an honor it is to be here and to share with you how good God is. Before I came to Teen Challenge, my life was on a downward spiral. I was totally consumed with a life of sin and in bondage to many different things in life. I have had such strong bondage that I burnt every bridge with everyone that has ever mattered most in my life.
I know what it’s like to be lost and feel completely hopeless in life, to be homeless living in newspaper bins and under bridges because no one wanted me around. I know what it’s like to be in bondage to drugs and alcohol, to be pronounced dead in the hospital and to wake up there, time and time again with my wife or mom crying over me, wishing, praying that I’d get help this time. I know what it’s like to live for the devil, and to live life as a convict. Going from mental rehabs to Christian rehabs to my countless jail visits, living for the world and things in it. It has brought nothing but death in my life, physically and spiritually. I have never felt so lost and alone.
I know what it is like to try to fill the void with every kind of worldly pleasure just to find out that it’s never enough, little did I know that God is enough and that with Him you can have a purpose, hope and good future. I also know what it’s like to have God come in and break all the bondage and truly set me free. Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
I truly have never felt so much love in my heart or real joy like this in my life ever before. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” By trusting in God, I have watched Him make that true in my life. By following the Lord, He has restored every broken relationship that I have ruined. God is good and I give Him all the praise and all the glory.
