I am 22 years old, born in Seattle, and raised in Port Angeles WA. Two 21-day rehabs, two five-day detox facilities, and one sober house did not keep me off of drugs! Jesus did!
I now realize that treatment didn't work, a relationship with Christ does. Teen Challenge has helped me learn how to establish, nurture and keep a relationship with my Lord. Before coming here I was homeless and addicted to heroin. I had no hope, no future. I lost my house, my job, my cars, my family, my self esteem and most everything else that had a purpose or meaning in my life. Since being here, I now know that God wants and is able to restore everything that the enemy has stolen from me. It's funny, but I am content with nothing, because I realize that material things don't matter and God has already restored what's most important to me: my family.
This program enables me to seek God on my own and come to an understanding of who He is in my life. He is my healer, my restorer, and my hope. When I finish this program I will walk out of these doors not only "clean and sober," but truly transformed by the power of God. I now look forward to what He has in store for me. I am thankful to be here, and I am truly blessed today because of what God is doing in my life. Thank you Jesus and thank you Teen Challenge for helping me!
