“I saw the words ‘positive thinking’ on some Teen Challenge materials and knew that I had to get there. My cell mate arranged with her lawyer to help me. I wasn't prepared for the power behind those positive words; at Teen Challenge I met the Living Word.”
Alyson came to Teen Challenge Montana Women's Outreach in November of 2006. She had been to many other treatment programs only to find herself once again lost in drugs and alcohol. She knew in her heart that it would take more than positive thinking to change those old behaviors. She found what she was looking for: a Savior and Lord who not only could help her, but transform her from a lost and broken woman into the beautiful woman of God, one that He had intended her to be from the very beginning. Alyson completed the program in November of 2007 and made the decision to stay for an additional six months.
While the transition from Teen Challenge has been difficult the blessings that have come from a life lived in Christ is beyond compare. Today Alyson is married to Gabriel Moree and they are in the process of adopting their first child, baby Grace. Grace has been living with them for the past several months while they finalize the adoption paperwork. This past November they received word from the courts that they have been approved to be able to complete the adoption process for baby Grace.
Gabriel and Alyson attend Central Assembly of God in Huntsville, Alabama. Alyson and Gabriel share home and work responsibilities and are also learning to walk that road of adoptive parenting. Alyson would be the first to say that it is by the grace of God she has been renewed and restored, and looking into the eyes of her first child she daily realizes God’s grace for each day.
